TANKERSLEY ESTATE

The Vineyard is nestled between the rocky outcrops of the Pisa Mountain Range and the shores of Lake Dunstan in Central Otago, New Zealand. The soils are some of the oldest in New Zealand and they give this Pinot Noir its great density. The Tankersley Estate Vineyard is next to Lake Dunstan close to the Cromwell-Wanaka Road.

2015 was a great hand picked Pinot Noir Vintage for Central Otago. Crop levels were on the light side but balanced. Autumn was long and dry and summer was warm. These conditions conserved vibrancy and finesse in this great vintage.

The wine was mellowed for 18 months in French Oak. It shows the typical Otago characters of cherry, chocolate and spice.
It is long, fine and velvety and whilst great drinking on release, it has developed extra complexity with a few years in the bottle.
